Seats 4 Kids

Experiencing the performing arts is about much more than being entertained. The arts have the power to teach, to inspire, to unify, and truly transform individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Time and time again, research shows that young people who are engaged in the arts do better in school and are more involved in their communities. They also demonstrate higher academic performance including increased standardized test scores and lower drop-out rates than those students not involved in the arts.

Seats 4 Kids is a scholarship fund established by Broadway Grand Rapids to provide free tickets to local youth who could not otherwise afford to attend a performing arts event. Contributions from generous individuals like you allow us to provide tickets to economically–disadvantaged children through local community service organizations and Title 1 schools that have been pre–approved by Broadway Grand Rapids staff.

All recipient organizations have submitted formal applications and have been pre–approved by Broadway Grand Rapids management. Participating organizations are not–for–profit 501©(3) organizations or Title 1 schools that offer programs focused on economically–disadvantaged youth. The quantity and frequency of scholarship tickets is based on available funding.

Contributions to the Seats 4 Kids scholarship fund will be acknowledged in Broadway Grand Rapids’ Curtain Call house program for the season in which your tax–deductible donation occurs ($100 or more). You’ll also receive an invitation to Broadway Grand Rapids’ annual donor appreciation concert and a subscription to the Beyond the Stage newsletter. More importantly, you’ll receive the benefit of knowing that your generosity has helped inspire children through the transformative power of the performing arts.

Your tax–deductible contribution to Seats 4 Kids scholarship fund is for the sole purpose of purchasing tickets for qualified youth.

Donations do not qualify for Broadway Grand Rapids’ seating priority system.

Please join us in helping children experience the power of the performing arts at Broadway Grand Rapids. If you have any questions or wish to know more about supporting Broadway Grand Rapids’ community engagement initiatives, please contact Broadway Grand Rapids Development at 616–235–6285.
